Do you travel for work frequently? It seems like most people traveling for work have a system to packing everything they need for the trip into a carryon size bag. When you are trying to cram everything in a bag, space is a serious premium.
Donnie is traveling to Denver and Texas in the next two weeks for conferences and training workshops. I know he has no problem packing his belongings into a carryon bag, throw in a book to read on your free time, and add conference and training materials, then a laptop… the load becomes larger.
For the FPA convention in San Diego, I ended up packing conference materials, two books, an older heavy laptop, an Android tablet, and an iPad. Altogether, that made for quite a burden. Next time I will make an effort to lighten my carryon!
I normally wouldn’t back both an Android tablet and and iPad, but we wanted to showcase how well Silver Online runs on tablets. I am looking forward to more applications having the ability to run full functionality while maintain user friendliness like Silver Online.
Your personal entertainment load is one that can be easily lightened with the help of a Kindle or an iPad. Your laptop for work has probably also lightened up over the last few years as you have adopted newer technology. As more applications become tablet friendly, it’s possible you might find you can ditch your laptop and just pack your tablet.
Happy traveling!
PS if you haven’t tried running Silver Online on your tablet – you should! I found it to be impressively responsive and was surprised by how quick the reports generated. I would definitely be comfortable taking this to a lunch meeting with a client to model retirement projections. Hopefully you will find it to be pretty cool too.
