Your clients can view and edit their own financial data with Silver Online’s customer access portal. This feature allows you to engage the client in the planning process as a participant, not just a spectator. Advisors can determine the extent to which they want clients to have access to data and reports:
- None
- View data only
- View and edit data but not see the report
- View data only (not edit) and generate report
- View and edit data AND generate report
The options are selected under the “Customer Access” tab.
After selecting a completed client file to work with from the “Client” tab, click on the “Customer Access” button. Select the plan to be used from the drop-down list. If you want to let clients edit their data that you have already input, check the “Customers may make changes to this plan” check box. Specify a password to be given to the client for viewing privileges and set an expiration date. Click “Update and Continue”.
On the next screen, check the “Allow this client to view a report” box to enable the client to generate the reports from the data they’ve reviewed. If you as a planner would prefer to control the generation and presentation of the plan to the client, leave it unchecked.
Follow the wizard through the remainder of the inputs and the client access web-page will be generated with the specifications you have decided upon.
