JOSEPH MAUGERI, CFP®
Managing Director of Corporate Relations, CFP Board
Joe joined CFP Board in 2011 and is the organization’s Managing Director of Corporate Relations and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. He is responsible for ensuring good communication with financial services firms and other employers of CFP® professionals in order to support and grow the number of CFP® professionals that can provide competent and ethical financial planning to the public. In addition, he works with firms and advisors to raise awareness of the profession and engages with key firm executives to support financial planning and CFP® certification.
Joe is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been quoted in industry publications, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He also runs an industry working group for CFP Board in the area of Financial Advice.
Before joining CFP Board, Joe was a vice president and head of the Professional Alliance program at Merrill Lynch; a director at SEI Investments, Inc., leading its marketing and distribution support services; and worked for more than 13 years as a financial advisor at AXA Advisors, LLC.
He received his B.A. from Temple University, an M.S. in leadership studies from Northeastern University, and completed a Competitive Marketing Strategy Executive Education program at the Wharton School of Business.
