Panelist Biographies
Richard J. Buoncore
Managing Partner, MAI Capital Management, LLC
Rick became Managing Partner of MAI Capital Management, LLC on February 1, 2007, after spearheading the acquisition of McCormack Advisors International by his prior firm BC Investment Partners. Rick was a founding partner of BC which offered wealth advisory services to high network individuals and families.
Prior to BC, from 1999 – 2005, Rick was Chief Executive Officer for Victory Capital Management, a subsidiary of KeyCorp. He joined the firm in 1991 as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for Spears, Benzak, Salomon & Farrell, Inc. (“SBSF”), a New York based investment management firm, which later became a division of Victory known as Victory SBSF. Earlier in his career, Rick worked for Shearson Lehman Brothers as Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking Division and helped start Lehman Brothers private equity division in 1990.
Rick graduated from Fordham University with a BS in Accounting and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on the baseball field. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (non-active CPA) and is an active member of Cleveland’s charitable and civic community.
Dickson Griswold
Senior Wealth Advisor, Frontier Wealth Management
Prior to joining Frontier Wealth Management, Dickson worked for a decade running his own firm, a fee-only fiduciary wealth management firm he founded in 2010. With over 30 years of wealth management experience, Dickson has extensive practice in managing the needs of high net-worth individuals.
“I enjoy being my clients trusted advisor and helping them to understand and organize their finances. My goal is to deliver financial peace of mind.”
He began his career in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana at Waters, Parkerson & Company, where he served as an equity portfolio manager and lead fixed income manager. He relocated to Colorado in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, where he founded Highwater Wealth Management.
Dickson graduated from the University of Mississippi. During his career, he has been registered with both the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). He obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2008.
He has volunteered as president of Southeast Denver Baseball League, and as a board member of Anchor Center for Blind Children, Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities, Morgan Adams Foundation, and most recently the Colorado Academy Board of Trustees. In his free time Dickson enjoys cycling and restoring vintage cars.
Barry Mendelson

Barry is the founder of Capital Market Consultants, Inc. an independent research and consulting firm providing customized investment manager, capital market and economic thought leadership to financial advisors. Barry is responsible for guiding the firm’s overall direction and is involved in both research and client service. Barry has worked in the financial services industry for forty years. He brings a wealth of practice management, business building, and investment management consulting experiences to client engagements. He has spoken frequently at industry events over the years on subjects ranging from investment analysis, client profiling, money manager style analysis, investment consulting, advisor training and other topics. He is the author or co-author of a number of articles on various aspects of the practice of investment management consulting.
