What's new and/or different in TOTAL?

TOTAL is a fully updated application that takes advantage of new technology to meet the needs of professional financial planners. It looks, acts, and performs better and more reliably than ever.

What I need to know about the installation?

  • The installation process should be straightforward, standard and largely automatic.
  • You might need to contact your computer support person if you don’t have permissions to install software onto your computer.

I just opened TOTAL Planning System and it is coming up with a Convert Database window asking me if I want to convert my data, what should I do?

  • Click OK to start the data conversion process.  This is a one time process to bring your data from the TOTAL 1.22 version up-to-date for the new system.
  • This process may take several minutes and may appear to be stop at times.  DO NOT ABORT THE PROCESS! Just wait patiently for the process to finish and all of your contacts should appear when you are done.

The program says I am running a demo version.  How do I register TOTAL Planning System?

  • Until you register the program, which requires valid license for the program, you will be running a demo version of the software.  If you already have a valid license for Easy Money and/or Golden Years, you will get a new license for TOTAL Planning System.
  • Go to "Help" - "Activate Components".
  • This will open the Activation and Registration Wizard.  Choose "Next".
  • Fill in your information, the required fields are your email address, first and last name.
  • There will be a license key entered.  This is the demo license key.  Highlight the license key and delete it.  If you do not have your new TPS licenses you will need to contact us - please call our toll free number, (877) 421-9815 or email info@moneytree.com.
  • The installation code should be already entered and will not need to be changed.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Registration/Activation Method - if you are connected to the Internet, choose the "Online" option and press "Finish".  The program will come with a message "Thank you for taking the time to activate/register".  An email will be sent to the address entered with the registration information for your records.  If you do not have an active Internet connection, you will need to contact us - please call our toll free number, (877) 421-9815 and request a registration number.

Will I lose any data when I convert?

  • You will not lose any data, however you will want to review the data input to make sure everything is correct and to take advantage of the new features.
  • Should your system crash or some other similar unfortunate catastrophe occur during the data conversion process, TOTAL has an automatic backup process so a quick call to our tech support team will get you back up and running.

How do I import my Money Tree Suite data into TOTAL Planning System?

  • TOTAL Planning System version 2.0 does not allow import from a Money Tree Suite Database.  Please contact our technical support team for information on how to do this.  They can be reached at 1-877-421-9815 ext. 0, or at support@moneytree.com

I'm a little confused by some of the new things, what should I do?

  • The help system is the best place to start.  If you press F1 on your keyboard, it will open content sensitive help.  If you want more explanation, feel free to e-mail us at support@moneytree.com, we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
